Horseback Riding Lessons

We’ve got it all! For beginners, choose the walking trail ride followed by wine tasting on the Garrod’s estate in Saratoga.

For advanced beginners, try the trotting trail ride at Garrod's.

For intermediates, treat yourself to 2-hour ride where you can really canter on Tennessee Walkers in the ocean air in Pescadero– for an unforgettable experience.

We made the rides with wine tasting in Saratoga co-ed, so you can bring your guys.

Trot or Walk Trail Ride & Wine Tasting
This is a gorgeous trail ride at Garrod's Estate with amazing views. Your 1-hour guided trail ride can be trotting - for those who want to move a little faster, or walking - for people on their 1st or 2nd trail ride. Afterwards, enjoy tastings at Garrod's winery, with a light cheese and fruit buffet.

You're ready to Trot if you've been on a few walking trail rides and are now very comfortable on horseback.

Beginners are encouraged to try the Walking Ride; it's a gentle ride with sweet, mellow horses.

Things to Know
Q: Are Garrod's rides English or Western?
A: You can ride either English or Western. If you want an English saddle, please let us know and be sure to wear English riding boots (short or tall), so that you can fit into the narrow English stirrups.

Reasons to Play
• Lose yourself in the views of the Valley
• Enjoy a leisurely stroll on the estate
• Garrod's is one of the oldest - and most beautiful - local stables
• 21 acres of vineyards, and it's still managed by Garrod family members to the highest standards
• And, of course, the horses are well loved and trail experienced

Arrive at Garrod's Stables in Saratoga a little early and remember what it's like to relax.
